About Us
Les Carnets Rituels - What is written becomes flesh. Become who you are.
In a fast-paced world, we believe in the power of pausing. Les Carnets Rituels was born from a simple desire: to bring meaning back to our daily lives through writing and mindfulness.
Self-esteem • Focus • Progress • Purpose
Two people, two worlds, one path
Les Carnets Rituels was founded by two people and two cultures: a Frenchman with a deep love for Asia, and a Japanese woman passionate about personal development.
We did not arrive here by accident. We both struggled — with self-confidence, with discipline, with procrastination, with the quiet, persistent wish to become a better version of ourselves. Each of us searched in our own way. And what we found, together, is that the answer did not live in one tradition alone, but in the meeting of two.
Where East meets West
Our strength is the fusion of Eastern and Western philosophy in everyday life.
From the East: the wisdom of Japan and China — Shinto, Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and the quiet teachings passed down through centuries of tradition. From the West: Socrates and the examined life, the Stoics, Nietzsche, Jung.
Two worlds that can seem opposed — sometimes even contradictory — and yet profoundly complementary. One teaches us to accept; the other, to question. One shows us how to let go; the other, how to know ourselves. Walking between them, we found a path where we could finally be fully ourselves: capable, at peace, and able to accept who we are — naturally, without force.
This is what we want to share with you. Not only the proven benefits of journaling for your mental and physical wellbeing, but an open door into two great traditions of psychology and philosophy that, together, can guide you toward self-knowledge and a richer inner life.
Why "Les Carnets Rituels"?
Our name was born from a single intention: to turn the everyday into ritual.
In Japanese, there is kata — a form practiced until it becomes part of you — and gishiki, ritual. When a habit is repeated with care and intention, day after day, it stops being a task. It becomes a ritual: a quiet, powerful practice that shapes a better daily life, and slowly allows you to become who you truly are.
Every page of our planners and journals is designed to be a personal sanctuary. Whether you are organizing your week with our Weekly Planner or embarking on a journey of personal development with our 1% Better Journal, we support you in creating life rituals that resonate with you.
Journaling: an active meditation
Journaling is meditation in motion. Your hands, a pen, paper.
In a world that spins entirely around screens, returning to paper has never felt more restorative. Paper carries the whole history of humanity; it asks nothing of you but presence; it is easily recycled and kind to the planet. And research keeps confirming what writers have always known: the hand and the page reach our goals — clarity, calm, happiness — more surely than the keyboard ever will.
Our belief
We believe, deeply, that improving our inner world transforms our whole wellbeing — and that the more people find peace within themselves, the fewer of the world's problems take root. Person by person, page by page, we move toward a better world. With optimism — and, sometimes, a step back to breathe.
Take your time. One line tonight is enough. We will be here — page after page, quietly walking beside you, as you become who you are.
